About Dr. Mitch Masker

Welcome to Kearney Elementary!

My name is Mitch Masker, and I am proud to serve as the principal of Kearney Elementary.  I am in my 6th year as the principal of Kearney Elementary, also spending time as an Assistant Principal in the Savannah R-3 School District, and as an elementary teacher in the Liberty School District.  Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with students, families, and educators to build strong school communities where students feel a strong sense of belonging. I believe that strong relationships are at the heart of every successful school, and I strive to build trust and collaboration with our students, staff, and families every day.

I hold a Doctorate and Specialist degree in Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a Master’s degree in K-12 Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University. I am committed to continuous learning to help our school thrive. 

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My wife Jena and our two children keep us very busy.  I also enjoy golfing and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

I am honored to lead Kearney Elementary, and I look forward to partnering with you to make this a wonderful year of growth, success, and fun for all our students!
